Ultimate Fighting Championship or mush known in UFC in short is a U.S.-based mixed martial arts organization, currently recognized as the largest MMA promotion in the world. It was the first mixed martial arts. It focuses on the heavier weight classes in, whereas its sister promotion, the WEC that focuses on the lighter weights. It begins in a single-event tournament to find the world’s best fighters irrespective of their style, and was based upon Brazilian vale tudo fighting. But it only has a limited numbers of rules. There was no biting, no eye gouging, and techniques such as hair pulling, head butting, groin strikes and fish-hooking were frowned upon, but allowed. The current rules for the Ultimate Fighting Championship were originally established by the New Jersey Athletic Control Board The UFC became a hit on pay-per-view and home video almost immediately due to its originality, realism, and wide press coverage although not all of it favorable.

The concept for a tournament is to discover the world’s best fighting style. It is an almost no holds barred event that challenges all comers to practice their martial arts skills against each other in a real street fight setting. UFC is an event that challenges different types of martial arts and Ultimate Fighting combines them together in a ring. These events featured eight martial artists of different styles and experience in a winner take all tournament. You can see different types of styles such as Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Ninjitsu, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Kungfu, Muay Thai, Shootfighting, Judo and much more. Although UFC was very graphic and very real, it was really popular with paper-view and lives showings.

Fedor Emelianenko - He still can’t speak English, but Fedor can sure fight.

Anderson Silva - Making the jump to the light heavyweight division could enable Silva to become the best fighter in the game.

BJ Penn - At this point, Penn is arguably the best lightweight in the sport of mixed martial arts.

Randy Couture - The bad blood between Couture and the UFC is no secret. It has put his career into a standstill.

Forrest Griffin - There has been no fighter whose stock is rising more rapidly.

Muay Thai the most played martial arts today is a form of hard martial art practiced in large parts of the world. It is also referred to as “The Science of Eight Limbs”, as the hands, shins, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art.

What is Muay Thai? Muay Thai known also as Thai Boxing in English is what the Thai people call their own martial art. The art of Muay Thai has been the country’s most popular spectator sport for hundreds of years. It is unique among other kinds of fighting disciplines in its approach to close quarters fighting. In muay thai, they uses there elbows, knees, feet and fist. In the old days, Muay Thai was a dangerous sport, with no safety gear of any kind for the fighters, and only lengths of cords to wrap around the fists in place of gloves. That’s what we’ve seen in Ong-Bak movie the Muay Thai Warrior.
Equipment that is necessary for Muay Thai matches must be provided by the stadium. There are a stopwatch, a signal gong, a warning bell, and boxing gloves of various sizes according to the rules, equipment to provide water for boxers, and other additional personal accessories for boxers who have not prepared their own such as boxing shorts in red or blue, jock straps, surgical tape, or sacred cords.
A Muay Thai match formally have no more than 5 rounds, each round take 3 minutes to last, with a two-minute rest period in between. No additional rounds are allowed. Boxers must regularly wear gloves, each weighing not less than 6 ounces (172 Gramm). The gloves must not be squeezed, kneaded or crushed to change its original shape.
To learn Muay Thai is to learn about its roots and its purpose, and there is nowhere better to do that than in its homeland.

Have you heard about martial arts? What about trying to be one of the martial artists? Hmm. If you’re thinking of what kind of martial arts you want to enroll, why not try the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Even though it has been around for many years, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was made famous in the United States.

Its was also like judo that promotes the principle that even you are smaller, weaker person you can still protects your self against a much bigger and much stronger than you by just applying leverage and proper techniques.

These martial arts started when Mitsuyo Maeda, an expert Japanese Judoka sent overseas to spread his art to the world. And for the development of his art maeda meet an influential businessman named Gastão Gracie who helps him get establish.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint-locks and chokeholds also found in numerous other arts with or without ground fighting emphasis.

In the world of martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is very effective. It is one of the best martial arts for ground fighting, especially in tournaments. Very few martial arts styles can compete with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on the ground, which is why so many people are deciding to study it. If you’ve decided to start studying this exceptional ground based martial art - you can pat yourself on the back for making a decision you won’t regret.
